More dragons, sooner

I mentioned earlier that my editor had emailed to inform me that the release of Realms of the Dragons 2 was going to be pushed up. A couple days ago he got back to me with an exact date. The anthology, featuring many of the finalists from the Maiden of Pain open call, will be on shelves in May 2005. That’s four months earlier.
Of course, it also meant they needed my contribution four months earlier, which put the deadline a month before the manuscript for Maiden was due. Originally, the schedule had worked out so that I would be done with Maiden before I had to work on the short story.
After a few moments of breathless anxiety, I emailed Phil back and asked for a 30 day extension on Maiden in return for pushing up RotD2. He agreed, thankfully.
So, look for my FR debut (along with many others) in May next year, followed by my first novel in July.
