A bit distracted

I’ve been anxiously awaiting word back from Phil on my short story for Realms of the Dragons 2, but alas, my Inbox is still empty. Hopefully, I’ll have something to report on Monday.
That said, I’ve got ten minutes before lunch, so I thought I’d post something. This week has been relatively unproductive for me at work and at home. They changed my schedule–I start an hour later now–and I’m required to cover the phone queues for at least 2.5 hours a day. Not only does this disrupt my workflow, but it is very demoralizing. I didn’t get my degree to end up in customer service.
The malaise from work has followed me home this week. I’ve only made it through edits of the first three chapters of Maiden, and this weekend looks to be busy with family things, so I don’t see making much more progress. I think I’m also hanging back until I hear from Phil on what changes need to be made to the short story, if any. I’d really like that one to be in the can, to borrow a term from the film industry, before I wholly reinvest in Maiden. I don’t know why, I’m just weird that way, I guess.
