The interview

After only a week of sending out resumes this time around, I got a call for an interview. The position was a marcomm writer for a property management company. I woke up bright and early Monday morning and headed downtown to meet with the HR person and the IT manager, who would be the direct supervisor for the position. I get there as people are trickling in to the office and wait a few minutes before a receptionist shows up. A couple minutes later, and a gentleman introduces himself as the IT manager. He explains that the HR person called in sick, so it would be just him and I.
We go to a conference room and begin. He asks me about 4 standard interview questions. Then it’s my turn. Unfortunately, most of the things I ask are HR-related, for which he has little or no answers.
The interview was done in fifteen minutes.
I’m confident in my answers and my ability (I left some writing samples), but having it over that quickly leaves me with some uncertainty. One good sign is that this is only the first of three planned rounds of interviews, so it’s possible that later interviews will be more in depth and this was just to get a first impression.
