Two week countdown

Maiden of Pain is due two weeks from today. I feel like I’m on the last leg of a marathon. I can see the finish line, and I know what I have to do to get there, but I’m running on fumes. So I keep plodding along, mumbling to myself that I can do it, I’m almost there, just a little bit farther.
It is my hope that the excitement of these last couple of chapters will reinvigorate me, much like the cheering of the crowd that lines the home stretch. I’ve been anticipating writing this section since I finished the outline over nine months ago.
Hmmm, nine months . . .
Nevermind. As a male, it’s probably best if I forego any pregnancy analogies. Wouldn’t want to incur the wrath of my female readers who have gone through that experience.
