Moving on from Maiden

Another reason why the webpage took so long was because I had to go over the galleys for Maiden. Phil FedEx’d them overnight so I got them a couple Saturday’s ago. He needed them back by this Thursday to meet the printer deadline, so I spent the same weekend I got them going over the pages for errors.

There were only about 20 separate items that I emailed back to him. Not bad for a 292-page story. There was one really big issue I had with a change made in the final fight scene. I wrote Phil back with what I felt was a fairly logical and solid argument for keeping it in its original form, and he agreed. Phew.

And that’s it. Maiden is done and out of my hands. The next time I see it will be on the bookshelves of the local Borders or in a care package from WotC, whichever comes first. I have two new writing projects on my plate, and some freelance web design projects coming up in March, so I’m keeping busy. Before I know it, June will be here.

    Hey Kameron,

Just wanted to congratulate you (much belatedly) on securing Maiden of Pain. You beat me out, but I’m not complaining too much (not at all come December, actually :-P ).

I’m really looking forward to your novel — you’ve got a great setup, it looks like, and I want to see how it plays out.

    Congrats, once again!
