I heard back from Ginger today. The bad news is there will be no release of my original submission. Wizards felt it would unduly influence future open calls, and they want the process to be as opaque as possible. I can understand, but I’m disappointed I won’t get to share this. If anyone is interested, email me and I will reveal what scenes from the book I used in the proposal. It’s the best I can do.
The press release needs to be run by a couple more folks, but that will probably get the OK and I’ll send that out shortly. I called my local Borders today and spoke with their Events coordinator about organizing a signing. She gave me her email, and that of the Portland Events coordinator, to send more details so they can see about fitting me in. They also requested an advance copy. I forwarded that on to Ginger.
