Wizards of the Coast is holding a fun little popularity contest over on their D&D pages. It’s called Creature Contest, and features 16 different monsters going head to head. Now, this isn’t a combat arena. It’s about who you like the most. The ultimate winner will have a free online adventure crafted around them. Voting is done online, and each contest will last a week (Tue-Mon).
There are some interesting choices: both classic monsters and newer entries tweaked with templates and class levels. Meepo makes an appearance, matched up against a celestial badger for the first round. Folks are already campaigning for him in their forum signatures. The first matchup is Terrasque vs. Gelatinous Cube. I noted that if the warforged and the beholder won their first round, we’d have a pirate vs. ninja battle the second round. I can just imagine the posts that would generate.
