Pleasant surprises

I saw SW3 yesterday afternoon. It was awesome, a return to the glory days. The disturbing memories of Ep I & II have been wiped away. The couple we went with joked that Lucas could have just done Sith and summed up Menace and Clones in the opening text scroll. I will be seeing this one a second time in theaters.
Believe it or not, someone has already gotten a copy of Maiden of Pain! A Candlekeep poster announced he had read the book, loved it, and even asked some spoiler questions. I’m floored. It’s not scheduled for release until sometime around June 7-10.

I have to ask, why the heck does the seller have the item specifics listed as Children’s Books?

Probably because of the general ignorance or disdain of what fantasy fiction is.

That’s awesome, Kam. And unfortunately, I have to agree with you on that ignorance thing. Everyone in my family thinks I’m a dork because they see me walking around with R.A. Salvatore and Forgotten Realms books all the time. But if I get seen with some Stephen King, now that’s a different story…

The pre-release is strange … esp. as I have still not found any in-store copies of Realms yet.
Maybe Colorado simply isn’t a large enough target market.

That’s awesome, Kameron! Fan feedback from your first book.
I printed out a large chunk (200 pages) of my own book last weekend for my brother to read on the way to Korea. Seeing that stack of pages was like seeing a mirage of my future book, almost but not quite there. While you’re only a week away from seeing your first book on store shelves. I know you must be stoked.
Have you arranged to do some promos and signings in your home town? Get out there and promote! Get the practice inwith the smaller crowds, so when you’re a NY Best Seller, you won’t be daunted by the raving fans.
Harley, I live in Denver and bought a copy of Realms at the Borders in the Colorado Mills Mall. It wasn’t at the B&N across the street, though…
