Long Labor Day weekend

I took Friday off for a four-day weekend. It was busy. All Friday and Saturday morning was spent weeding, shoveling and raking barkdust, and mowing. I got blisters on both hands and was popping Advil like they were breath mints. I’m really looking forward to my birthday massage this coming Saturday.

Saturday afternoon was our son’s 2nd birthday party. His mom made him were a white t-shirt with “Birthday Boy” drawn on the front in marker and “I’m gonna be a big brother” on the back.

Sunday, I preached up in Longview. I think we had some bad Chinese for lunch, because we got home and everyone felt out of sorts. Monday was my day. I goofed around all day, playing computer games, spending some time at the local gaming shop, and other leisure activities.

My one regret was not doing any writing. It’s been tough recently. I’ve found myself stuck at a certain point in “Scroll.” Things should be a bit slower this month, so here are my goals:

  • Finish “Scroll of Cairdein” (including revisions)
  • Schedule interviews for non-genre novel based on a true story

Don’t feel bad. Most of the folks at the party missed it, too.

Officially, the due date is May 9th. However, some recent developments have us a little concerned and we’re just praying to make it through the first trimester right now.

    Congratulations!

I did a double take when I read that to make sure I had read right.

Happy belated birthday to you both, too. I’m sorry I missed them.

Francis was due on May 9th, too…he arrived healthy and happy on April 30th, after making us worry throughout the pregnancy…here’s hoping your little one does the same (arrive safely, that is, not the making you worry part). We’ll keep you in our prayers.
