Not one of my more original post titles, but it’s accurate. I’m just shy of seven thousand words on my pirate short story. That leaves me with only two thousand words to describe the climactic rescue from which the story gets its title. The thought of what I might have to cut has already crossed my mind, but I think I’ll query the editor about a small extension first.
Secret Proposal #1 has turned into Secret Project #1. That means I have ten thousand words due in a little over 30 days. I’ve already got a good start on this, and should have it done in 14 days or less.
The first month in the production cycle for my company’s initial release is coming to a close and I’m pretty excited with the results. I’m meeting with the contractor next week to see how close to the timeline we’re sticking. I’ll post some of the concept sketches for the units later tonight. We should have the company website launched next month, and I’ll post some screenshots of the models then.
