My company, Goldbox Media Group, is celebrating its first year this month. Development of the UI for Eternal Warlords has begun. Chris (Wan Gai from the Pens & Swords forums) met with the FigBox and sketched out the screens. While the layout is pretty much what we had originally envisioned, some changes resulted from FigBox’s input.
Feature creep is inevitable in the software biz. My job as producer is to decide what makes it for this release and what will be held back for future updates. There are planned updates for EWA, at least two years-worth scheduled. These include new units, new maps and a tournament engine.
We’re also looking at other products. I’ve got a handful of ideas that are in various stages of development, from one-page concepts to 20-page proposals. The board will sit down after EWA goes live and examine these (and any ideas the other board members have) as we make a decision about what direction we want to go.
