Submitting to Dragon magazine

It appears Dragon Magazine is now accepting short fiction submissions (thanks for the heads up, Erik). I’ve had a short story featuring Iuna, the young girl who caused Ythnel all the problems in Maiden of Pain, circulating in my head for several months. This appears to be the perfect opportunity to get it out. I’ll also submit “Relvan’s Rescue”, as they are open to original work as well as stories base in the settings Wizards owns. I need to retool a couple scenes first, so Iuna’s adventure as an acolyte of Loviatar will come first.

Kam, check out Paul Kemp’s recent post about this. It might provide some useful insight.

Yeah, I actually had that concern (the “all rights” clause) and was one of the reasons why I was going to go with the FR story first. It would give me a chance to read the specifics of the contract and see what exactly I’d be relinquishing.

I had the exact same reaction. Definitely go with a shared world story. Decided to not even post a link back to the posting, given noted reservations.
